A place for thoughts, 2017, mixed media, 5’ x 4”
This piece is a depiction of childhood memory, the idea of objects and their meaning and composition. This sculpture started as an organized way of keeping track of memories and my childhood through the use of objects. As time went on, the objects lost their meaning and all that felt tangible were the memories I had within me. Towards the end of this piece, each area became an almost three dimensional sketchbook where the objects lost their meaning and simply became matter, color and shape. I began to see each composition as a larger installation I could come back to later on.
